College. Work. Plans after high school. It’s all a scary thought. We came in as freshmen, not knowing what we wanted to do with our lives. We were all just excited to be in the high school, finally. What no one realizes is that high school flies by. Throughout high school, your parents will tell you that it will fly by, but you won’t believe them because it feels like it’s going slowly. However, they are right. You may be just finishing your freshmen year, but next thing you know, you’re a month away from graduating high school and having to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life. It’s terrifying.

All our lives, we depended on our parents to help us through everything and we knew we would never have to do anything on our own as long as they were there, but once you finish high school, you’re on your own. You’re in the real world. It all changes. You realize that life and the “outside” world is hard to handle on your own.

Now would be a good time to start thinking about your future plans. As soon as you’re in high school, you should start planning. It’s never too soon. As was said before, time flies. Whatever you choose to do with your life, don’t be scared. You’re never going to be completely alone. You’ll have family and friends there to support you, but some decisions will have to be made on your own.

To whoever is reading this article, I wish you luck. It’s not easy to grow up, but it will be well worth it. Just choose the right path and do what makes you happy. Live your life to the fullest and make the best choices you can. Good luck on your future endeavors.
